Our local branches are run and managed by parent volunteers. We currently have 10 branches located throughout Scotland. The activities put on by the branches are a great way for families to connect with others in their area. Click on the menu on the left to find information about the activities each branch offers and how to get in touch with them.

For over 25 years, the Aberdeen – City & Shire branch (formally Grampian Branch) has brought together families with connections to Down’s syndrome. The membership area covers Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire. They currently run three groups;

  • 5’s & Under Group
  • School Age Group
  • Ten Pin Bowling Group

The Angus branch of Down’s Syndrome Scotland launched in December 2015. Their monthly ‘Down Right Fun Angus’ group has been running since 2013 and it provides activities for children with Down’s Syndrome and their families. The branch also runs a cinema club and a Trampolining Club.

The Ayrshire Branch has members from all parts of Ayrshire, and has been active for many years. They currently run monthly meetings and a Swimming session on Saturday mornings.

The Central Branch has been running for 40 years. The branch covers the Falkirk, Stirling and Clackmananshire council areas. They currently run 3 groups;

  • 5-12 Group
  • Activities Club (13+)

The Dumfries & Galloway branch of Down’s Syndrome Scotland launched in February 2018.

The Edinburgh and Lothian Branch run regular activity groups for children with Down’s syndrome and their families. They are currently running two groups;

The Highland and Islands Branch launched in Summer 2015. They meet on the first Saturday of every month. Our group offers the opportunity for families to join in on a range of activities each month.

Our newest branch the Oban, Argyll & the Isles Positive Futures Group formed in January 2022. They hold regular catch-ups for play and chat in a welcoming and positive environment.

Previously known as the Tayside and NE Fife Branch, this became the Tayside and Fife Branch in 2013. Our branch covers all DS Scotland members living in Fife, Perth & Kinross and the Tayside area.

West of Scotland Branch aims to create a network of friendship and support for people with DS and their families in Greater Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Argyll and Bute, but people from other areas are very welcome to come to our events and activities.
